Guidewire Software has announced the addition of Octo Telematics to its Guidewire PartnerConnect program. London-based Octo specializes in telematics and data analytics software for the auto insurance industry.

“Octo has enormous experience in transforming motor insurance through behavioral, contextual and driving analytics,” said Becky Mattick, director of global solution alliances at Guidewire Software, in a statement. “They can deliver powerful insight into driver risk as well as value-added services, such as crash and claims support, that benefit both insurers and their policyholders. “

Octo, founded in 2002, will provide a “Ready for Guidewire” accelerator for clients, making it easier for insurance companies using Guidewire PolicyCenter to integrate with Octo’s telematics offerings, the companies said. The vendors plan additional expansion of their partnership, with Octo building additional accelerators for Guidewire customers in the near future, reducing implementation efforts and lowering project costs.

“With Octo’s accelerator, both large and small insurance companies can quickly harness the power and value of a telematics program,” said Nino Tarantino, CEO of Octo North America. “As a result, insurers will have access to the power of the IoT to improve customer service, engagement, retention and loyalty.”

Octo joins Verisk Insurance Solutions and Intelligent Mechatronic Systems (IMS) as the most recent industry vendors to join Guidewire’s PartnerConnect program as technology providers.
