Alan Balko is a senior channel director in D&B’s Global Product Organization. In this role, Alan is responsible for partnering with D&B teams supporting customers in the Financial Services vertical. Prior to accepting this role, Alan was senior product director, Global Risk and Analytic Solutions, where he led the development of risk management solutions for D&B’s financial services customers.Alan also leads D&B customer forums and advisory councils, with specific focus on small business lending and commercial fraud detection and prevention, including D&B’s Small Business Risk Insight (SBRI) solution. Since SBRI was introduced to the market in July 2002, Alan has been responsible for building and managing this reciprocal database solution for the financial services industry. In this capacity, Alan has worked closely with many of the leading financial services institutions and other vertical industries helping their respective teams to leverage new sources of data to better identify processes for improving approval and loss rates and uncover new business opportunities through more strategic portfolio management.Prior to this current role, Alan was vice president of D&B’s Enterprise Risk and Compliance product suite, where he led a team that built and managed several Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance and counterparty risk solutions. Alan also worked with other vertical industries to build best demonstrated practices and strategies for detecting and preventing commercial fraud, specific to business identity theft.Alan joined D&B in 1987 and over the course of his career he has developed expertise in credit and operations risk management, fraud detection and prevention, AML and BSA compliance. Alan received his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mineral Economics from the Pennsylvania State University. In his spare time Alan enjoys various outdoor activities including golf, bicycling and gardening.
