Lorena Ritchey
Lorena Ritchey is Vice President of Customer Service and Billing (CSB) Information Technology at Nationwide. Her responsibilities include planning, building and running the customer contact center and billing technology solutions that support Nationwide customers serviced by 4500 customer care representatives across 15 call centers located throughout the United States. She is responsible for the strategic, tactical and operational management of 95+ applications supported by 350+ IT professionals with a budget of $63 million.
Just prior to CSB, Lorena served as Vice President of Project Delivery Services within Nationwide IT Program & Application Services. In that role, she was responsible for maintaining, advancing and managing a shared PMO shared services organization with a focus on Program and Project Management Capability, Executive Program Management Services, Vendor Management and Variable Capacity Management.
Lorena has been with Nationwide 20+ years where she has held various positions and leadership roles across Operations, Business and Information Technology. Over the years, Lorena has participated & supported various leadership, sponsorship and mentoring development programs, such as Leadership Development Program, Energy4Performance, Insight Leadership Development, Accelerating Leaders Program, and Mentoring Circles and Forums. Currently, she is an active Advisory and University Relations Sponsor member on the Nationwide Women in IT Forum, a member and sponsor of Nationwide Women’s ARG and Asian Network ARG, a member, sponsor and panelist on the Columbus Women In Technology International (WITI) group. Lorena serves as the Chair for Nationwide IT Workforce Effectiveness Governance Team across 10 IT Professions, she is a co-leader of one of our Nationwide IT Strategic Aspirations, focused on Continuous Learning and Improvement, the Executive Sponsor for the Duke University ASEP Leadership Certification Program, and the Nationwide Sponsor for the Gartner PMO Leadership Council membership. She is a Board member on the Bishop Watterson High School’s Mother’s Club and serves as a Board of Trustee on the Catholic Foundation, including serving as an active Martha’s Giving Circle Founders Circle member.
Lorena earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University and holds the PMP designation from PMI, and Organizational Change Management certification from PROSCI. She holds the Stanford Advanced Project Management Certification (SCPM) and received her Lean Certification and graduated from the Nationwide Lean Leadership Academy through the Ohio State University Fisher College of Business Executive Education. In 2017, Lorena completed the Executive Insight Leadership Program. In 2018, Lorena was recognized by Digital Insurance as one of the most dynamic and innovative female leaders in the insurance industry, and currently a Digital Insurance (DIG) advisor. Lorena received her LitheSpeed Scrum Alliance Certified Leader certification and has training and experience with Work Excellence A3 systems.
She resides in Dublin with her husband Matt and two children, Max who attends Bishop Watterson High School and Pia who attends St. Brigid of Kildare Elementary. Lorena is passionate about living a very purposeful life of giving back, learning and developing herself through living a faith-based, happy, healthy and balanced lifestyle. She enjoys practicing yoga regularly, and although not currently teaching; she is a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance. She enjoys staying active and volunteering through Nationwide and her local community whenever possible. At the core, she is a devote Catholic and values the opportunity to support her parish St. Brigid of Kildare where she is a Eucharistic Minister and she and her husband have been part of the Couple to Couple Mentoring Program as Mentees supporting couples preparing for marriage. When not at work, you can always find Lorena spending time with her family and friends during various service and extracurricular events. She is a “foodie” and enjoys traveling across the globe.
