Miguel Edwards
Miguel is currently the Chief Information Officer for Kemper Life & Health, a division of the $8 billion Kemper Corporation (NYSE: KMPR). In this capacity, he is responsible for the development and execution of business transformation strategies necessary continue building Kemper’s leadership position in the insurance industry.

Prior to joining Kemper in 2018, Miguel served as the vice president of Strategy & Operations, focused on Allstate’s Independent Agency Operations and overall Heartland growth initiatives. In this role, Miguel oversaw myriad operational functions within the Independent Agent channel, as well as lead a series of transformational initiatives designed to increase Allstate’s market share in key multicultural and rural markets.

Before joining Allstate in 2012, Miguel served in a number of functions developing and executing on innovative strategies, leveraging his strengths as a technology-savvy business leader with experience in the manufacturing, financial services, and insurance industries. More notable assignments include senior vice president at Cover-All Technologies, Inc. (now Majesco), a provider of commercial insurance platforms, and technology director at Willis North America (now Willis Towers Watson), the third largest broker of insurance and risk solutions for the property and casualty market.

Outside of Allstate, Miguel volunteers a significant portion of his time advancing several community causes. He is a 2018 Fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago, a member of the Senior Leadership Council for the Chicago chapter of ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America) and serves on the Boards of Directors for the Hubbard Street Dance Company, the Insurance Technology Association, and the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association. He is also an adjunct professor at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Miguel earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Accounting, along with an MBA from Rider University. Miguel is married with four boys, struggles mightily with golf, and is an avid private pilot.
