Capital Insurance revamps core with Guidewire

Capital Insurance Group has announced the deployment of Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingCenter as its new underwriting, policy admin and billing management system.

The new platform replaces CIG’s legacy software and is said to improve agents' ability to conduct business with customers thanks to new self-service options, according to the companies. PolicyCenter and BillingCenter also reduce system maintenance costs and increase speed to market, Guidewire says.

CIG first deployed the vendor's software for its business owner and commercial auto lines before expanding the core technology to all business lines this year. The regional insurer also implemented Valen Analytics’ predictive modeling tool in March 2016 to bolster its underwriting performance.

“Our customers may not realize they are leveraging Guidewire technology directly, but they can have confidence that we are able to offer them the best products, fastest service, and more self-service online solutions, which will strengthen their partnership with Capital Insurance Group,” said John Halberstadt, chief information officer at Capital Insurance Group, in a statement.

CIG joins California Casualty, Vermont Mutual, National Indemnity Company and the Co-operators Group as Guidewire's recent core customers.
