The Shawnee County District Court in Kansas in June overturned the Kansas Insurance Department's decision denying the purchase by Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.In the ruling, the court vacates the Department's previous ruling and remands the matter back to the Commissioner.
"We are pleased that the court has affirmed our position," said Larry C. Glasscock, president and CEO of Anthem.
"We have always believed that Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield would serve Kansas Blue Cross members well, bringing quality, affordable products to Kansas as we have in all other states in which we operate," he said.
