NAIC Launches New Consumer Web Site

Members of the Consumer Protection Working Group of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), Kansas City, Mo., launched a consumer information Web site where consumers can locate basic information about insurance companies, file complaints against companies, and review statistical information about previous complaints. The launch of the site is the conclusion of a cooperative effort by the working group's task force of consumer and industry representatives and state insurance regulators. The data contained on the site is submitted by the state insurance departments. Consumers can access the site through the NAIC Web site at www.naic.org.
