SunGard Employee Benefit Systems, an operating group of SunGard, Birmingham, Ala., launched MyPlanAdmin, an online ASP solution for retirement plan services, including plan setup, payroll entry, record-keeping and participant assistance such as investment advice, through its new OmniNet browser-based front end. MyPlanAdmin is fully integrated with OmniPlus, SunGard's employee benefit record-keeping system for defined contribution plans; OmniPay for check writing and disbursement software; and OmniDBEN for administration of defined benefit plans and their associated payments.Alameda, Calif.-based Netopia Inc., a developer and marketer of broadband gateways and Web platform software, is expanding its Web platform with an application called eCare. The application enables live, online support for collaborative customer service. Netopia is targeting eCare for use by independent software vendors, online marketplace aggregators, broadband service providers, banks, insurance carriers and other financial services enterprises. Users can activate eCare to communicate with customers online through the eCare "dynamic chat" service. Customer service agents can use eCare to assist customers in finding content and accessing information by pushing Web pages directly to their customer's desktop. eCare also enables help desk and support agents to view and remotely control a customer's screen, mouse, and keyboard.

Docucorp International, a Dallas-based provider of enterprise information solutions, enhanced its Web site, called The Form Spot, launched in January 2000 to automate the insurance form selection and production process. More than 400 electronic ACORD insurance forms are available at www.formspot.com in a click-and-choose format. State insurance departments, insurance companies and agents can use the one-stop site to obtain the most updated industry forms. Docucorp also enhanced The Form Spot with application service provider services, including saving documents as work-in-process, electronic archival of completed forms, exchange of transactional data to other parties via e-mail, and exporting data in other formats such as XML.

Inskey Inc., a Woburn, Mass.-based provider of integrated insurance distribution solutions, has introduced a customizable, Web-enabled and JAVA/XML-based application platform designed to reduce policy-processing costs. The front-end system-marketed as QUAD-integrates with existing host systems to enable carriers, managing general agencies and financial institutions to process and distribute multiple insurance products through multiple distribution channels. QUAD can be integrated with a carrier's insurance processing system at a cost of less than one-half of 1% of written premium, according to David C. Cooksley, president and CEO of Inskey Inc. Developed by a team of experienced insurance application developers, the application has been integrated and tested with different rating engines.

Boston-based Tower Technology Inc., a transactional document and content processing vendor, released Legacy Links, a software infrastructure that enables customers who have outdated or inadequate imaging systems to upgrade to Tower IDM without the need for a costly, time-consuming, data conversion process. Legacy Links leverages the inherent distributed repository architecture of Tower IDM for real-time access to images and other files stored in a variety of different document systems. Tower currently offers standard Legacy Links for FileNet and IBM systems. In addition, using Legacy Links, Tower IDM can co-exist with Optika, Eastman, Mobius or any low-end document system that uses simple redirected DOS file paths to shared network servers with drive-letter storage.

e-Nable.com Corp., Westwood, Mass., has been certified in four key transactions of the ACORD XML Standards for Life Insurance. The transactions, which include New Business Submission, Case Status Notification Request, MIB Inquiry, and Paramed Report Order, are part of a standardized format developed by ACORD to make it easier for companies with different front and back end systems to communicate.
