An Uber Technologies Inc. Volvo self-driving sports utility vehicles (SUV) sits on the road after a high-impact crash in Tempe, Arizona, U.S., on Friday, March 24, 2017. Uber Technologies Inc.'s self-driving cars were back on public roads Monday, three days after a crash in Arizona put the company's testing program on hold.

National Indemnity Company has selected Guidewire Software’s claims and business intelligence platforms to replace outdated core legacy systems.

The P&C insurer will also adopt Guidewire’s claims portal for policyholders, agents and vendors as part of the agreement. The move will support self-service initiatives, enhance data and analytics tools, and reduce overall costs, according to the companies.

“We are impressed with ClaimCenter’s out-of-the-box functionality, flexibility, and configurability, and are confident that the system will provide the functionality and performance we need,” said Tracy Gulden, vice president of NICO, in a statement. “Guidewire’s product maturity, market share, and track record of successful implementations were also attractive to us.”

NICO will deploy Guidewire’s technology for its commercial auto, general liability, and garage lines of business in all states it currently operates. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Omaha, Nebraska-based carrier joins The Co-operators Group, FBM Idaho, and Safety National as Guidewire’s latest insurance customers.
