AON Names Bill Pieroni Global CIOBrokerage giant Aon Corp. has appointed Bill Pieroni global chief information officer. Pieroni joins Aon from IBM, where he was head of that company's global insurance industry practice. He has extensive technology and industry experience, working with insurance companies and other clients on complex information and technology issues. Pieroni, whose appointment was effective June 20, will have responsibility for global Aon IT-related activities. He will be based at the firm's headquarters in Chicago.

Mark Robison Elected IASA President

Members of the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA), Durham, N.C., have elected Mark Robison as president for the fiscal year that began on July 1, 2005. Robison rose through the ranks of IASA holding various management team, leadership and volunteer positions within the association during his many years of volunteering. Currently, he serves as vice president and treasurer of Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company, a Fort Wayne, Ind., a niche regional P&C carrier insuring America's churches and related ministries. Robison joined Brotherhood in January, 1994. Prior to joining Brotherhood, he was a manager for Ernst & Young, LLP serving insurance clients, and also within the firm's information systems consulting practice. Robison is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, a Fellow, Life Management Institute and holds the Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

The Hartford Names Terry Walker New Life Group CIO

The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, Conn., appointed Terry Walker as senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO) for its Hartford Life Inc., subsidiary.

Walker, formerly head of technology for Hartford Life's Group Benefits Division, is now responsible for leading the life insurer's enterprise-wide technology advancements.

Walker joined Hartford Life in 2000 as a director in the Investment Products Division. In his newest role, he will oversee management of enterprise-wide technology projects such as risk management technology initiatives and the consolidation of technology infrastructure.

Ohio Casualty Insurance Co. Elects Ralph Michael President and COO

The Ohio Casualty Insurance Co., Fairfield, Ohio, has named Ralph (Mike) Michael III president and chief operating officer. Michael comes to Ohio Casualty from U.S. Bank, National Association, where he was executive vice president and manager of Private Asset Management. In addition to his most recent position with U.S. Bank, Michael also served with that organization as executive vice president and manager of West Commercial Banking and as president of U.S. Bank - Oregon. Michael earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of California at Los Angeles Graduate School of Management.

Integro Appoints Craig Lowenthal Managing Director and CIO

Integro Ltd., a New York risk management brokerage firm, today announced that Craig Lowenthal has joined the company as managing director and chief information officer. Lowenthal will be responsible for the applications, infrastructure, telecommunications and technology operations for Integro Ltd. worldwide. A technology professional in the insurance industry for more than 16 years, Lowenthal most recently served as vice president and chief information officer for Hartford Financial Products, a company of The Hartford. He previously held positions with Credit Suisse First Boston and Deloitte & Touche. Lowenthal is active in the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA) and the Long Island chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP).

Brian Kensil Promoted to COO at Folksamerica Re

Folksamerica Reinsurance Co., New York, has promoted Brian Kensil to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Folksamerica's claims, information technology, human resources and administration departments will report to Brian in addition to his current responsibility for contracts, underwriting services and risk management. Folksamerica, a multi-line broker market reinsurer, is a wholly owned subsidiary of White Mountains Re Group Ltd., which is part of White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd.

James Hyatt Named President of Citizens & Hanover Personal Lines division

The Citizens and Hanover Insurance Cos., Worcester, Mass., have named James Hyatt president of their personal lines division. Hyatt, who previously served as president of Citizens and Hanover's New England region, will be responsible for all aspects of the company's personal lines operations. Joining Citizens and Hanover in 2004, Hyatt previously served as regional vice president of The Hartford's P&C operations in Northern New England. Before joining The Hartford, Hyatt spent 17 years at Chubb, where he held numerous leadership and management roles.
