PATNI RELEASES AUTOMATED FRAMEWORK FOR INSURANCE

Patni Computer Systems Ltd. a Mumbai, India, IT consulting and services provider, launched a customizable solution framework for the development or modernization of insurance business applications. Initially, the framework will support Patni’s application components for life new business.

Based on a service-oriented architecture and built using the company’s branded PatniPlus methodologies, these application components are architected to integrate with existing custom or packaged applications within an insurer’s systems infrastructure. They incorporate business process management and business rules management technologies, as well as an insurance reference model that covers all lines of business. Also included is an integrated business intelligence reporting and analytics capability that supports insurer needs for business insight, performance metrics and increased audit capabilities.

PITNEY BOWES GROUP 1 EXPANDS WIND POOL DATA

Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software, Lanham, Md., has introduced an address-based solution to its Wind Pool Data bundle, developed to help insurance carriers selling in the state of Florida mitigate their underwriting risk. Delivered through an on-demand, Software-as-a-Service model, Wind Pool enables insurers to determine whether a property lies within a designated wind pool zone.

Wind Pool is built on the customer data quality platform, which is designed to enable users to easily consolidate data into a single, comprehensive customer record, and integrate that information into business operations to make more informed decisions, and Data Flow, a data management solution that offers both ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) and business intelligence in a single integrated product. Insurers can consolidate data into a singular, viewer-friendly format that can be interpreted to perform business intelligence analysis and generate comprehensive reports.

Wind Pool is an addition to the Wind Pool Bundle of the Risk Data Suite, a source of risk-related weather and other natural hazard information. The Risk Data Suite provides historic and real-time weather information based on the location of weather and natural disaster related risk, including earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and wildfires.

GT SOFTWARE OFFERS IVORY SERVICE ARCHITECT 4.0

GT Software, Atlanta, released 4.0 of Ivory Service Architect, expanding Ivory’s support of composite business services to virtually every application in an organization’s architecture. The flagship product of GT Software, Ivory Service Architect consists of Ivory Studio, a graphical modeling environment; Ivory Server, a high-performance SOAP processor with runtime service orchestration; and Ivory Server for Batch.

The new version expands the platforms, environments and formats supported by Ivory to include non-conventional interfaces and applications, both on and off the mainframe.

Systems and technologies such as MQ Series, CORBA, custom applications—even encryption and compression routines—can now be included within an Ivory-developed Web service.
