United Fire Group to revamp core with Guidewire

United Fire Group has selected Guidewire Core and Data products to modernize its systems, with PwC handling systems integration.

The carrier's nearly end-to-end replacement includes PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, Rating Management, and Reinsurance Management as its policy administration, underwriting, rating, reinsurance and billing management platforms; as well as DataHub and InfoCenter for data management and analytics and Smart Communications for content management.

“We are taking a proactive approach to modernize our systems and create the opportunity for transformational change,” said Mike Wilkins, executive vice president and chief operating officer, UFG. “The goal is to build a platform that enhances our processing capabilities and creates a central data structure to guide strategic decision making.”

Claims is not included in the Guidewire implementation, indicating United Fire will stick with its current vendor, Accenture. The company also uses analytics and business intelligence software from Valen and iPartners.
