Hippo's agency adds Pacific Specialty, Great American partners on workers' comp: Insurtech roundup

Hippo subsidiary First Connect Insurance Services, a digital platform for independent agents, has launched a Carrier Store to assist carriers in onboarding new agents. The platform also has added Pacific Specialty Insurance property, powersports and liability products.. "The new store allows First Connect carriers to quickly grow their agent footprint by targeting agents that meet specific criteria such as location," says First Connect President Aviad Pinkovezky in a statement.
Hourly.io, an insurtech provider of workers' compensation insurance and payroll services, will act as an MGA for Great American Insurance Group's coverage. The insurtech's platform combines worker's compensation with time tracking and payroll to ensure accurate premium calculation. "We are impressed with the cutting-edge technology Hourly will bring to Great American and the team's first-rate underwriting abilities," says Richard Suter, divisional president for Great American Alternative Markets, in a statement.
HUB International has announced the launch of Cannabis Dispensary Insurance, accessible digitally via the company's Insureon platform. Coverage includes general liability, product liability and commercial property. The coverage is underwritten by the MGA SafeHerb.
Pouch Insurance Services, which offers usage-based insurance to small fleets, has selected Milliman AccuRate Fleet for insurance scores. "The Milliman AccuRate score allows us to offer extremely fair and accurate pricing to our customers and rewards them with lower rates for driving carefully and managing their fleets," says Steve McKay, CEO of Pouch, in a statement.
CerebrumX Lab Inc. is incorporating data from Ford connected vehicles to support its usage-based insurance model for insurers. The company's platform has insurance, media, OEMs, fleets and other companies that leverage connected car data. With the new insurance implementation, Ford and Lincoln drivers will be able to get a score if they opt into UBI,  "By opting into usage-based insurance, Ford and Lincoln owners can be rewarded for their good driving habits with more personalized insurance offerings," said Amy Graham, Services Marketing Director at Ford Motor Company, in a statement.
