MetLife has added two to its data & analytics organization, the company tells Digital Insurance. Ecaterina Espinoza is hired as VP of solutions engineering, responsible for aligning the business side with the data organization, according to a company announcement. She last was at MUFG Securities and also has worked at UBS, Alliance Bernstein and Guardian Life. Ayo Olayinka is hired as VP of data governance, responsible for data management, quality, and efficiency. He last worked at the Agricultural Bank of China. Both new employees report to Robin Gordon, who joined MetLife last year as chief data and analytics officer.

Aon has launched a Strategic Solutions and Innovation practice within its commercial group, the company announced in a statement. The new unity is responsible for designing and implementing new products that meet “unprecedented volatility and risk” challenges, the statement says. It will be led by Ward Ching, head of strategic solutions and innovation, and Michael Gruetzmacher, head of alternative risk transfer and innovation. In addition, Bleu Bettencourt joins as managing director, alternative risk transfer and innovation.
Boxx, a cyber insurance insurtech, has appointed Phil Baker as global head of insurance and president of Boxx Canada, the company says in a statement. Baker joins from Beazley Canada, a company he had joined when it acquired Creechurch Underwriters. He also has worked at Travelers Canada. "Phil will play an integral role in expanding relationships with the insurance brokers that fuel our business in Canada," said Vishal Kundi, BOXX's CEO and co-founder, in a statement. "Under Phil's technical leadership, we can step up the pace to enhance and extend our insurance products to meet the demands of partners and customers we are seeing across the world."

Parametrix Insurance, an insurtech offering cloud downtime insurance, has hired Rick Wong as head of insurance, the company announced. Wong last worked at Hiscox USA, where his 13-year career encompassed underwriting, broker relations, and other leadership roles. “Parametrix is delighted to welcome Rick Wong as our head of insurance where he will lead broker channel development and manage our broker relationships, which today include more than half of the top 20 brokers globally,” said Yonatan Hatzor, Parametrix co-founder and CEO, in a statement. “Rick brings extensive knowledge and experience developing broker channels which will help him establish Parametrix as the de facto downtime insurance provider for brokers across all enterprise technologies.”

Denim Social, an social media management startup for regulated industries including insurance, has hired an insurance executive to a strategy role. Nola Morris, the company’s new VP of strategy, last worked at Sprinklr and Nationwide, the company says in a statement.
