5. New York

New York City’s “Silicon Alley” helped the state reach the fifth slot in Dice’s survey, with 2.6 percent growth. And with a high-tech high school in the works, those numbers will only continue to grow. SAP plans to partner with a New York City school to offer students a high school diploma along with an associate’s degree, with the opportunity to land jobs at participating companies.

2. Massachusetts

More tech jobs have been created in Massachusetts year over year. Those 2,600 new positions can be attributed to the Mass Technology Leadership Council work to educate lawmakers about technology and encourage policies focused on tech employment.

1. New Jersey

During the first half of the year, New Jersey has added roughly 3,600 jobs, showing a similar growth rate as last year (5.2 percent). The increase has been bolstered by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s incentive grants for small and mid-sized business who add at least 10 jobs in the technology or biotechnology sectors.
