Robert Mulhall is a managing director in Accenture Distribution and Marketing Services, responsible for consulting to Accenture�s retail banking and capital markets clients in North America. In his role, he works with leading financial services companies in the US and Canada to help formulate integrated retail banking and wealth management distribution strategies; provides insights on the opportunities and disruption potential of digital transformation; and advises on ways to reform the role and operating models associated with physical distribution channels.Prior to joining Accenture, Robert spent 18 years in the banking industry in Europe. Previously, Robert was head of direct channels for Allied Irish Banks (AIB), with responsibility for the strategic development and management of AIB�s online, mobile, contact center and self-service channels across retail, small business, commercial and corporate banking in the United Kingdom and Ireland.In his role at AIB, Robert was instrumental in leading the transformation of the bank�s direct channel capability. As a result of the initiative, 95 percent of the bank�s transaction-fulfillment is conducted online and through self-service channels and 40 percent of the bank�s retail banking sales are conducted through direct channels. Under Robert�s stewardship, AIB won the EFMA Award for Innovation in Retail Banking Distribution 2013 in recognition of the creation of �The Lab� � the first complete digital banking store experience in Ireland.Robert holds a BSc in Physics, Masters in Finance and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA�). He is a native of Ireland and lives in New York with his wife and three children.
