According to research from insurance tech analyst firm Novarica, 15% of insurers have launched some sort of drone program. In the company's recent report, Aerial Imagery in Insurance: Overview and Prominent Providers, authors Martina Conlon and Emily Lacaque evaluate 18 vendors support insurers in their efforts, separating them into three categories:

Aerial Image Capture and Analytics
Aerial Imagery Analytics
Drone Manufacturers and Inspection Services

"Not every insurer may have the budget to purchase a fleet of drones and train human resources to pilot the devices as well as analyze the IoT data they collect. But they are likely able to collaborate with third-party drone companies or compare a property survey conducted via remote pilot to other relevant data. Carriers can then select key metrics from these IoT data streams to be used in their analytics platform," the authors write. Read on to see what Conlon and Lacaque have to say about the companies.
