Allstate has named Susan L. Lees the company’s first-ever Chief Sustainability Officer. EVP and general counsel Rhonda Ferguson took over Lees’ previous roles as chief legal officer and secretary of the corporation. Lees joined Allstate in 1988 and has held a variety of leadership positions. “This realignment of responsibilities is consistent with Susie’s decision announced in August to focus on environmental, social and governance initiatives,” said Tom Wilson, Allstate Chair, President and CEO. Ferguson joined Allstate in September from Union Pacific Railroad.
The Standard has promoted Dan McMillan to president and COO. J. Greg Ness retains his role as chief executive officer and chairman of the board. In his new role, McMillan will retain oversight of the company’s insurance and asset management businesses and add responsibility for IT, actuarial and risk management. McMillan joined The Standard in 1989 and has spearheaded large-scale business, technology and enterprise efficiency initiatives. “Dan’s more than 30 years of experience across many varied areas of our organization will suit him well as he takes on these additional responsibilities. He is a strong and steady leader who strives to help us meet and exceed the expectations of our customers,” said Ness.
Humana Healthy Horizons, a Ky.-based Medicaid plan, has selected Vida Health’s virtual diabetes management program to serve Kentucky’s Medicaid population. Launching this month, eligible individuals access Vida's group diabetes coaching, in-app peer group support, digital therapeutics for diabetes and co-occurring chronic conditions, and more to help them manage their health. The mobile-first experience is personalized to each user through a combination of provider expertise and machine learning algorithms that use data from more than 100 app and device integrations, as well as biometric data.
Philadelphia Insurance Companies has promoted Bob Pottle to EVP and chief strategic operations officer, a newly created position that will have Pottle responsible for strengthening the collaboration and delivery of service across marketing and underwriting teams. He will also track, delegate and execute corporate leadership strategies. Pottle joined PHLY as a marketing representative in 1986.
