FRISS acquires Terrene Labs: insurtech roundup

Buckle, rideshare-focused insurtech, and Shift Technology have announced a partnership to detect suspicious claims using Shift Claims Fraud Detection. Buckle hopes the AI platform will help it settle claims quickly, accurately, and fairly. all while delivering exceptional customer experiences. "Since most of our members are not committing fraud, we need a solution that is smart enough to know that and not alert on false positives," said George Rosen, Buckle VP.
Protecht, providing technology for embedded insurance products, has hired Todd Hancock as its Chief Insurance Officer. Before joining Protecht, Hancock was President and Founder of both Hancock Insurance Group and four2one Performance Coaching since 2010. He also served as President, CEO and Board Member of private equity-backed International Medical Group (IMG), a global insurance and assistance services company. "Todd has a natural ability to find organizational efficiencies while maintaining operational integrity and rigor, and he brings Protecht genuine passion and proven success in directing and transforming growth-oriented companies through critical business cycles,” shared Bryan Derbyshire, Protecht's CEO.
FRISS, an insurtech focusing on fraud, risk and compliance, has acquired Terrene Labs, a commercial insurance data insurtech founded by former Great American CIO Piyush Singh. Customers will be able to take advantage of a full end-to-end product suite from the combined companies to screen submissions, policies, endorsement, renewals, book rollovers and claims for fraud.
