MassMutual's Haven Life has announced the hiring of three new people to its leadership team. Sahang-Hee Hahn, head of strategy and planning, will shape strategy and business processes across business lines. Kimberly Love, head of insurance services, will lead actuarial functions including product pricing, underwriting and claims management. Matt Myers, head of marketing, will be responsible for direct marketing programs. Mitch Ocampo, head of Haven Life, said in a statement: "We are so pleased to have Sahang-Hee and Kimberly join our team as we continue to build a better experience for our customers, and excited to announce Matt's new role as head of marketing to further expand our leadership team. Steven Brown joins Sensa as its chief operating officer. Brown, who previously worked at Allstate and AAA, will scale operations and focus on growth for the company. The insurtech, which currently offers auto insurance in Illinois and Ohio, has nationwide expansion plans. Sensa's technology sensors activate when a crash is detected and then monitors for potential injuries and damages to send to first responders.
Accelerant welcomes chief technology officer Pete Horst, who will lead the insurtech's strategy and development for its data and technology platform. Horst previously worked at Qlik, IBM and Cognos. "Accelerant at its core is a data and technology company. We are thrilled to welcome Pete to our team to lead our risk exchange initiatives to meet the needs of our Members and risk capital partners," said Jeff Radke, CEO and co-founder of Accelerant, in a statement. "His expertise and strategic partnership will expand our industry leadership, authority and vision as we explore new frontiers."


Markel International promotes three senior leaders to the claims team. Jonathan Pestell, head of claims performance for specialty, will focus on broker engagement and claims services. Thomas Upton, head of claims performance for marine and energy, will focus on clients operating in marine and energy spaces. Dan Lofty, head of claims operations and special projects team, will manage vendor relationships. Pestell, Upton, and Lofty will be based at Markel's London office and report to Chris O'Shea, wholesale claims director at Markel International, according to a press release.
Evertree Insurance, a personal lines insurance agency, appoints Daniel Romero as head of mergers and acquisitions. Romero previously worked as VP of mergers and acquisitions for HUB International Limited where he focused on overall execution of transactions and negotiating deal structures. "Daniel's proven ability to build relationships, acquire and integrate new property and casualty brokers, and broad understanding of the personal lines market is exceptional," said Alex Tuff, founder and CEO at Evertree, in a press release.
Heffernan Insurance Brokers hires chief information officer. Kate Grasman, who recently worked at The Clorox Company and GE Capital, will drive organizational performance and innovation for the brokerage firm. "As our firm continues to grow, we have found opportunities related to technology and innovation that can help us thrive in the future. Heffernan is well positioned to take advantage of those opportunities because of the great work accomplished by our IT department over the past many years," said John Prichard Jr., chief advancement officer at Heffernan, in a statement.
