AXA Names New Chief Investment Officer

Bertrand Poupart-Lafarge has been named EVP, and earlier this month, the board of directors confirmed his appointment to chief investment officer and treasurer of AXA Financial and its subsidiaries, including AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company.

Reporting to Richard Dziadzio, CFO, Poupart-Lafarge will oversee investment and treasury activities, strategy and management of the investment portfolios of AXA Financial and its subsidiaries, and corporate development.

Poupart-Lafarge joined the AXA organization in 1996, and has held several investment positions within AXA Real Estate and AXA France, where he was the chief investment officer for four years. Most recently, he was an executive VP and chief financial officer for AXA Canada, responsible for developing the company's financial policies, plans and strategies.

"Bertrand has a proven track record of success within the AXA organization in various finance roles," said Mark Pearson, chairman and CEO of AXA Equitable. "We value his vast experience, and we believe his international expertise will serve us well in the United States, particularly during a time when the global economy has such a strong influence on our markets."
