Cross-sale Platform Developed for Online Quote Engines

JHPInsite.com, an insurance quote engine technology company and off-shoot of Health One Insurance Agency, found that “35 percent of website visitors clicking for information on additional products that are entirely different than what they were initially looking for." To address unpredictable shoppers, the vendor has developed a cross-sale platform enabling insurance brokers to place any product they wish into the quote engine environment for prospective clients.

"We've tapped into a fundamental supermarket-sales principle,” said Gary Jackson, president of JHPinsite.com. “When consumers are shopping, they are exponentially more responsive to their needs. If consumers need a product, and it's in front them, that's when they are most likely to respond.”

The cross-sale platform instantly notifies brokers when customers within the quote engine express an interest in any product being displayed. The platform also captures pertinent information in a back office panel. At the same moment, the system begins a brief correspondence with customers, confirming contact information and serving up a link for customers to use for more information on the requested product.

"In many cases, several different products [are being viewed by a single consumer]. This functionality provides brokers with several additional sales opportunities that they would otherwise know nothing about. It's a complete re-vision of what a quote engine can do," said Jackson.
