CONSUMER DIRECTED HEALTHCARE SUPPORT TOOLConnectYourCare, a Baltimore, Md., provider of administrative and healthcare decision support tools, is offering a new Consumer-Directed Healthcare (CDH) migration path for employers, designed to make transitions to a CDH model easier through a gradual, three-stage process. Employers first offer a debit card funded through a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), which allows automated receipt substantiation and gives employees access to online medical information. Employers can then introduce high deductible health plans with that same debit card. By the third stage, employers should be able to migrate to a full CDH model without changing systems.

WEB SOLUTION FOR HEALTHCARE PLAN PROVIDERS

Healthcare network solutions provider Transax International Limited, Miami, Fla., released MedLink Web Solution, designed to give healthcare plan providers real-time connectivity through a standard Internet browser for authorization and adjudication. Providers can use it to capture medical and dental exams, procedures, therapies, visits, laboratory tests and doctor referrals without complicated software conversion. MedLink Web Solution contains all functions already available in other Transax capture solutions, and uses security procedures following international standards.

ONE-CLICK PAYMENT STREAM DISBURSEMENT

Claim payers can disburse entire payment streams by clicking one button, with new technology from payment automation provider Jopari Solutions, Inc., Concord, Calif., and risk management information systems provider DAVID Corporation, San Francisco, Calif. This product combines Jopari's single-click architecture with DAVID's Renaissance 3.2 claims management system. It is designed to provide online payment status inquiry and dispute resolution functionality, and should automate many workflow steps in Renaissance 3.2.

DOCUBASE AND DORIS INTEGRATE SYSTEMS

Document management provider Docubase Systems, Inc., Clearwater, Fla. and management system provider DORIS Insurance Systems LLC, Alpharetta, Ga., integrated their systems in an effort to give agents more flexibility and ease of use in managing information. Agencies can retrieve Docubase information through the DORIS Agency Management system by clicking a single button on the DORIS toolbar, and can capture, index and store information in Docubase.

REAL-TIME VISIBILITY FOR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Unitech Systems Inc., a Naperville, Ill., provider of automated information control solutions, introduced ACR/Instream, Version 5.0, a process control product designed to allow real-time visibility into business management. It enables business process owners, internal, external and IT auditors, and compliance officers to visually interact with and monitor business processes as they happen, with the goal to help companies comply with visibility regulations and increase operational efficiencies.

DATA LIFE IMPROVES LIFE SETTLEMENT SOFTWARE

Improvements to Life Settlement Analyzer Illustration Software from Data Life, a Verona, N.J., collaborative and creative systems solutions provider, are designed to make illustrations more accurate, profitable, and efficient. Enhancements include probabilistic and deterministic funding and price analysis, hybrid analysis, joint life policies with both insured lives surviving, cost of insurance reverse engineering, five user-defined premium funding options, automated aging features, and purchase price analysis features.

SUNGARD OFFERS BUSINESS ACTIVITY MONITORING

BPM solutions provider SunGard Workflow Solutions, Wayne, Pa., added business activity monitoring (BAM) to their MACESS.exp product, with the goal of helping companies gather and analyze internal data to improve efficiency. MACESS.exp presents information from claims processing, member/provider service levels, system operations and operational efficiencies in a consolidated browser-based view with personalized graphs and charts.

ACCELERATED ROLLOUT FOR TEAM-UP DOWNLOAD

To help carriers make the change from traditional download to their TEAM-UP Download, Houston-based e-commerce business solutions provider Connective Technologies Inc. created Connective's Accelerated Rollout (CAR) program. CAR features support and management tools including a registration wizard, automated tracking, and a selection process that allows carriers to target specific agents by factors such as system or geography.

CAT MODELING SYSTEM PROVIDES DATA CONVERSION

Boston-based risk modeling provider AIR Worldwide Corp., released a new version of their Web-based catastrophe risk system, CATStation. CATStation allows companies to analyze insured risks or aggregate insured value in user-specified areas, and conduct "what-if" worst-case scenarios. It includes databases to map risks in relation to potential terrorist targets and active earthquake faults. The new version is designed to improve insurer workflow with a data conversion utility, AIR ImportExpress, which lets users import exposure data and reinsurance terms in any format for analysis.

ISO ENHANCES FRAUD-FIGHTING SOLUTION

Enhanced tools to fight fraud were introduced in Jersey City, N.J.-based risk management solutions provider ISO's NetMap for Claims Version 4.5. The software sifts through data in insurers' internal databases and the ISO ClaimSearch and Decision Net public-records databases, analyzing the information for connections to parties with multiple addresses or telephone numbers that may indicate fraud. New enhancements include access to public-records data, a presentation tool designed to make analysis easier, geographical mapping displaying where incidents occurred, and the ability to incorporate NICB Forewarn Alert bulletins and scored claims from ClaimDirector.

OUTSOURCING SOFTWARE FOR STAGES OF EMPLOYMENT

Pinstripe LLC, a Milwaukee, Wis., recruitment and employment process outsourcing provider, has introduced new recruitment process outsourcing software that integrates employee acquisition, hiring and engagement. The Requisition to Results (R2R) platform is intended to benefit six areas: strategic, economic, operations, technology, human resources and risk management, to help employers both hire and retain employees.

YALETOWN ENHANCES UNIVERSAL FILE IMPORTER

Enhancements to Universal File Importer (UFI) 5.1 from Yaletown Technology Group Inc., a Vancouver-based provider of enterprise content compliance solutions, are designed to make file management easier and more flexible. The enhancements enable users to keep original source objects on their network file share, while UFI 5.1 creates and loads proxy objects into the records manager, so the originals are secured but still available for access.
