The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors has elected State Farm chairman and CEO Edward Rust as its vice chairman for a one-year term.

In addition to his roles at the Bloomington, Ill.-based insurance giant, Rust  is currently vice chair of the Business Roundtable and co-chairman of the Business Coalition for Student Achievement. He also serves on the boards of America’s Promise Alliance; the James B. Hunt, Jr. Institute for Educational Leadership; and Achieve, Inc. and is a member of the boards of directors of Caterpillar Inc., Helmerich & Payne, Inc., and McGraw-Hill Companies.

“Ed is a leader on almost every major issue the Chamber has been working on," said U.S. Chamber President and CEO Thomas Donohue.  "He is always the first person to step up to the plate to offer his time and energy to this institution.”
