The Hartford, a P&C insurance, group benefits and mutual funds company, has selected PolicyCenter as its underwriting and policy administration platform. PolicyCenter is a product of Guidewire Software, a company offering software products to P&C insurers.
PolicyCenter positions The Hartford to increase operational efficiency through automation and improved data analytics and real-time reporting, the insurer said. It also streamlines front and back office processes such as new business submissions, quoting, renewals and billing.
The implementation of PolicyCenter complements The Hartford’s use of Guidewire ClaimCenter, a P&C claims management system that was licensed in 2012.
Guidewire PolicyCenter is an underwriting and policy administration system designed to help personal and commercial lines carriers to better deliver insurance. PolicyCenter is designed for P&C insurers and offers a system of record. It supports the core functions of the policy lifecycle: product definitions, underwriting, quoting, binding, endorsements and renewals.
