In the leafy college town of Amherst, Mass., several miles from the company's headquarters in Springfield, MassMutual's data science lab inhabits cozy quarters on the first level of a mixed-use development off the college town's bookstore- and coffee shop-lined main street.

MassMutual is going for a startup feel for its data science lab to attract young professionals in the field. That means lots of whiteboards. Some of them have sensitive information on them, but we're pretty sure this doodle of the Pokemon Metapod doesn't count.
