GCAN Grabs ISI's WebWriter Enterprise

Insurance Systems Inc. (ISI), a provider of Web-based enterprise solutions for property/casualty insurers, says GCAN Insurance has successfully implemented its WebWriter Enterprise product as part of a large-scale legacy modernization project.

Toronto-based GCAN Insurance went live with ISI's WebWriter Enterprise for the company's professional errors and omissions (E&O) line of business in May 2010. Professional E&O is the first line of the company's portfolio to go live with WebWriter Enterprise. Additional lines are planned to go live later this year as a part of the next phase of the company's complete legacy modernization.

"When GCAN went looking for a system, technology, flexibility and pre-integration were our main selection criteria," says Mark Cairns, VP and chief information technology officer for GCAN. "ISI exceeded our expectations in all of these areas, and ultimately delivered a solution which has increased our level of efficiency and made life much easier for our users."

Aon Integrates BWise Platform

Chicago-based Aon Corp. will use the governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) platform, from New York-based BWise Inc. Aon involved both its Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) management and IT risk management departments in its search for a platform, and will begin the integration by implementing its SOX compliance and global information security policies and procedures.

"Distinct departments came together here at Aon and understood the value of choosing a GRC management solution that could benefit both departments," says Alfred Jongejan, director of corporate finance. "Aon has found with the BWise GRC platform a way to integrate and converge several of our corporate initiatives together efficiently and economically."

Aon says it will use the BWise program to perform control testing, and to review and assess test findings.

Insurance Scorecard, a Software-as-a-Service analytics program, features include performance maintenance dashboards and scorecards, ad-hoc detailed analysis, production reporting, and drill to detail.
