Church Mutual has announced four promotions, two directly related to digital transformation and strategy. Guy Russ has been promoted to VP – innovation and data. The 10-year veteran of the company has served in several IT-related roles at the insurer. The last was AVP – Risk Control. The company also named Craig Huss VP – information technology and CISO. Huss joined the company in 2016 as senior IT executive director. The other promotions were Penny Fons, named AVP of claims; and Eric Spacek, who took over Russ’ role as AVP – risk control.

Ethos, a life insurance insurtech, hired Sheila Vashee as CMO. Vashee comes from Basis Set Ventures. Before that, she held marketing roles at Opendoor and Dropbox. "The key role Sheila played growing Opendoor and Dropbox really impressed us," said Peter Colis, Ethos co-founder and CEO.

At-Bay, a digital cyberinsurance provider, has added two executives. Adam Petrone is named head of insurance operations and strategy. He last was an SVP at Hiscox. Stephanie Lynch is named head of reinsurance. She last was a VP at Safety National Re.

Pie Insurance, a workers’ compensation insurtech, has added Wes Thompson to its board of directors. Thompson last was president and CEO of M Financial Group, which provided in life insurance and financial services for high-net-worth clients. He also worked at Sun Life and Lincoln Financial Group in his career.
