Mercury brings UBI program to Texas

Mercury Insurance has launched its mobile-app usage-based insurance app, MercuryGO, in Texas. Developed using Cambridge Mobile Telematics' DriveWell platform, the app provides skill scores that give real-time feedback about driving behavior. Enrollees receive a 5% participation discount initially; this can climb as high as 40% on renewal depending on their scores.

Swyfft picks Bees360 for claims assistance

Homeowners' insurtech Swyfft has signed Bees360's claims assist solution for handling wind and hail claims. Bees360 combines drones, AI, autonomous flight apps and licensed desk adjusters in its platform, allowing for an autonomous drone flight to capture roof images along with ground level elevation, while interior photos are taken with mobile devices. These are uploaded to the Bees Deep Neural Network (BDNN) which generates a damage assessment report. Bees360 then has its team of licensed desk adjusters review the damage assessment and complete the claims package to be returned to Swyfft for final review.

Haven Life, Insuritas link up

Haven Life, a digital life insurance agency backed and wholly owned by MassMutual, will partner with Insuritas to offer its no-medical exam policies to the latter's market of bank and credit union customers. Insuritas will use Haven Life's partner-hosted API solution to integrate term life insurance offers into existing user-facing workflows.

BrokerTech Ventures has added four new insurance partners: Cincinnati Insurance, RT Specialty, Amerisure and AmWINS Group. The organization provides networking and incubation to insurtech startups working in the brokerage space.

Farmers Insurance builds business with Carpe Data

Farmers Insurance has begun working with Carpe Data to help identify new opportunites for customers in its small business group. “By integrating new data elements from Carpe Data into our insurance programs for small businesses, we can better understand the challenges faced by business owners and identify options to address their commercial insurance needs," says Sharon Fernandez, president of Business Insurance for Farmers.
