Amit Khanna is the chief claims and service officer, U.S. retail markets at Liberty Mutual Insurance

Liberty Mutual Insurance appointed Amit Khanna as chief claims and service officer, U.S. retail markets. Khanna, who joined the company, will oversee strategic and operational direction for personal lines, small commercial claims and customer and agent service organizations. 

President Hamid Mirza, U.S. auto physical damage claims, said: "Amit's impact on our organization for the last several years has been significant – he is an empathetic leader with a robust knowledge of our business and the insurance industry overall. I am excited to leverage his expertise as we continually evolve and innovate our claims organization to provide superior service to our customers and agents and a high performing environment for our claims team." 

GEICO announces Tangela Richter as chief legal officer

GEICO announced Tangela Richter as chief legal officer. Richter will oversee all of the legal functions and government and regulatory affairs for the company. She joins the company from Wells Fargo, prior to that she held several leadership roles at American Express, Lending Club and Capital One.

Markel Group names Mike Heaton executive vice president and chief operating officer

Markel Group appointed Mike Heaton as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He will oversee day-to-day operations of the holding company and continue developing the system that supports the various companies. Heaton previously served as EVP and president  and COO of Markel Ventures.

CEO Tom Gayner said: "Mike has been by my side for close to two decades now. He is an incredible operator and thought partner who played a huge role in building the team, structure, and processes that made Markel Group into a great home for businesses. Marsh McLennan appoints David Liston chief commercial officer for U.S. and Canada

Professional services firm Marsh McLennan has named David Liston as U.S. and Canada chief commercial officer. In the role he will collaborate with Marsh, Guy Carpenter, and Oliver Wyman leaders to foster collaboration and innovation in areas where the businesses intersect. 

Liston has held a variety of roles during his more than 30 years at Marsh. "David's client-first attitude, extensive leadership experience and collaboration mindset will bring immense value to our colleagues, clients and business," said Pat Tominson, Marsh McLennan U.S. and Canada CEO and President of Mercer.

Novidea adds Daniela Krispin to leadership ranks

Insurance management platform provider Novidea has hired Daniela Krispin as vice president of research and development. Krispin, most recently vice president of research and development at Seebo, has more than 25 years of experience in product development at the start-up and corporate levels. Her experience includes 19 years with Amdocs, concluding as head of AI and data. Novidea's hiring of Krispin follows appointments earlier this year of Erez Nassim as chief technology officer and Ido Peled as senior vice president of product.

Arch Reinsurance Group promotes three executives

Arch Reinsurance Group has promoted three senior executives, Jerome Halgan, Vanessa Hardy Pickering and Lester Pun. Halgan, CEO of Arch Reinsurance, adds president and chief underwriting officer responsibilities to his role. Hardy Pickering, most recently chief financial officer of Arch Re Ltd., takes over as chief financial officer for the whole Arch Group. Pun, chief actuary of Arch Re Ltd., joined Arch in 2018 and is now promoted to chief operating officer of Arch Group.

Sedgwick appoints Emily Fink as chief marketing officer

Segwick, a provider of claims management, loss adjusting and technology-enabled business solutions has named Emily Fink as its new chief marketing officer. In this position, Fink will further define and implement Sedgwick's global marketing and communications strategy. Fink has more than 20 years of marketing and brand management experience, working previously at Liberty Mutual, Colgate Palmolive and Pfizer.

"Emily has impressive marketing experience and a track record of positioning global brands to form lasting and meaningful connections with new and loyal audiences," said Sedgwick CEO Mike Arbour in a press release. "Her growth mindset, specialty insurance experience and expertise building teams equipped to adapt to the rapidly evolving and digitally-driven marketing mix of today make her an ideal leader for Sedgwick."

Aspen Insurance confirms Sara Stanford as CEO, Aspen UK

Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited has announced the confirmation of Sarah Stanford as CEO, Aspen UK. Stanford had previously served as Interim CEO. Dan Osman will take over Stanford's previous role as Active Underwriter, Lloyd's Syndicate 4711 in addition to serving as CUO, Aspen Insurance UK.

"I am delighted that Dan has agreed to take on the combined role of CUO AIUK and Active Underwriter for Aspen's Syndicate 4711, a position I hold dear and that will remain crucial as Aspen continues to strengthen its London and Lloyd's presence. I am particularly proud that we were able to promote Dan and recognize the breadth of talent we have in the team," Stanford said in a statement.
