The ACORD Users Group Information Exchange in January launched its Agency Survey, an industry effort to measure agents' technology needs. The survey is intended to assist technology suppliers and companies in determining where agencies need technology and management system interfaces, says Paul Peeples, director of technology for the Florida Association of Insurance agents. "It will also help (agents) assess how they should spend their IT allowances for such projects." The results of the survey will be published in March. AUGIE was established in August 2000 to foster collaboration between Pearl River, N.Y.-based ACORD, agents, brokers, insurers, technology suppliers and insurance associations.
