To the Agents Council for Technology (ACT), anything is possible."We want to do everything we can to accelerate agent, carrier, and vendor implementation of money-saving technologies," says Jeffrey Yates, executive director for ACT, which is an operating unit of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA), Alexandria. Va.
To that end, the organization unveiled in late May a new design and functionality for ACTtech, a Web site developed to help independent agents and brokers find the latest information on real-time interfaces, downloads, and other time-saving technologies.
The site provides carrier- and vendor-specific information that drills down to line of business, transaction type and state and can generate comparison reports for specific carriers, vendors, and transactions selected by the agent.
Agents can also search the site by four categories: "carrier possibilities," "vendor possibilities," "my possibilities" and "process possibilities."
"Our objective with the site is to give agents, brokers, and the industry a single place to go to ascertain what new technologies are available to them, given their particular systems and carriers, or the systems and carriers they are considering," says Yates.
ACTtech, is located at www.acttech.org, or it can be accessed from the ACT Web site at www.independentagent.com/act. ACT does not charge agents, carriers or vendors to use the site.
