Cleveland, Ohio-based Hyland Software Inc., the developer of OnBase integrated document management software, has formed a partnership with Open Scan Technologies Inc., a Denver-based mail processing solution provider. According to the companies, the alliance will create an innovative solution for processing new business and ongoing commercial premium payments.New York-based BISYS has acquired Harrison James Group LLC, a national insurance brokerage firm specializing in the wholesale distribution of traditional and variable life insurance and annuities. The acquisition supports BISYS' strategy to expand its presence and potential in strategic areas including Houston, Chicago, St. Louis, Birmingham, Ala., and other markets.

Richmond, Va.-based consulting firm Align360 and U.K.-based Sirius Financial Systems Inc. have announced a partnership that makes Align360 Sirius' preferred North American implementation partner for Sirius-4Broking and Sirius4Underwriting. Sirius provides customized software and services to the financial services industry, including 900 insurance organizations in 50 countries.

Toronto-based InSystems Technologies Inc. and FileNET Corp., Costa Mesa, Calif., have announced the integration of InsSystems Calligo with FileNET's Acenza for Insurance application suite. Acccording to the companies, underwriters using the integrated solution will be able to approve and submit policy issuance requests within the Acenza application, eliminating the need to access information from multiple back-end applications to underwrite a policy.

Decision Research Corp. has entered into a purchase agreement for its RateMaker product to be used in QuotePro Inc.'s comparative rating solution. Honolulu-based Decision Research Corp. provides software to insurance companies, and Chicago-based QuotePro Inc., provides comparative rating software to independent agents., a Fidelity Investments company, has formed three alliances to offer customers access to extended warranty protection for automobiles, travel insurance for U.S. residents and pet health care insurance. The deals were signed with, Brick, N.J.; from Insuractive, Alexandria, Va.; and Veterinary Pet Insurance, Brea, Calif.

Fujitsu Consulting, Edison, N.J., and Intel Corp., Santa Clara, Calif., have developed a commercial auto version of Fujitsu's iFIRST XML Web services integration technology. The solution is intended to help carriers and partners in the insurance life cycle to exchange information in real time using ACORD XML standards.

Fair, Isaac Co., San Rafael, Calif., has validated the integration of its Fair, Isaac Insurance Decision System sofware with Siebel 7, the seventh major release of Siebel eBusiness Applications from Siebel Systems Inc., San Mateo, Calif. The integrated solution combines Fair, Isaac's analytical and decisioning capabilities with Siebel's customer service and data integration expertise.

eNable Corp. has formed alliances with NaviSys Inc. and MPO Group Inc. to offer integrated browser-based solutions to insurers. Westwood, Mass.-based eNable provides data aggregation and underwriting support systems to the North American life insurance industry. NaviSys Inc., Edison, N.J., provides strategic counsel and enterprise software for life and annuity companies. And MPO Group Inc., which was recently acquired by U.K.-based Focus Solution Group plc, specializes in automating the sales process for insurers.

The Hartford Financial Services Group has signed an agreement with San Diego-based HNC Software Inc. to use HNC'S Blaze Advisor business rules management software for The Hartford's property/casualty applications. The Hartford also has signed an agreement with Greenwich, Conn.-based IVANS Inc. to use Transformation Station. And the Hartford, Conn.-based insurer is increasing its use of Access CoverageCorp for rules-based SEMCI.
