The Chubb Group of Insurance Cos., Warren, N.J. and New York City-based consulting firm Accenture are developing a Web-based solution to manage Chubb's claims process. The application, based on Accenture's Internet claims software designed for property/casualty insurers, will handle coverage confirmation, reserving, payment and statistical transactions for commercial, personal lines and specialty commercial products.Commack, N.Y.-based InsureMyTrip.com, an online provider of travel insurance, has partnered with Overland Park, Kan.-based Unicard Inc., a supplier of travel protection plans. Using the InsureMyTrip.com search engines at www.insuremytrip.com, consumers can compare plans to make decisions about coverage.
Irvine, Calif.-based HNC Software Inc. has acquired Lenexa, Kan.-based ClaimPort Inc., a national EDI vendor. ClaimPort provides Web-enabled workers' compensation injury reporting and proof of coverage services. Its customers include more than 245 carriers, third-party administrators, self-insured employers and state agencies that support claims processing for workers compensation.
