John Hancock Financial Services, Inc., Boston, has established a partnership with Leesburg, Va.-based AnnuityNet Inc., through which Hancock is marketing a new online variable annuity, the eVariable Annuity. Hancock's eVariable Annuity is available through AnnuityNetAdvisor.com, an annuity management system for financial advisors, and TDWaterhouse.com's Annuity Center, an online annuity delivery system created by AnnuityNet.Columbus, Ohio-based Nationwide Financial has launched a partnership with BrightLane.com, an Alpharetta, Ga.-based technology company that private labels its business services platform to corporations who market to small businesses. Small business owners using the BrightLane platform will have special access to Nationwide Financial 401(k) products and services. Through the Web interface, Nationwide will educate customers on the benefits of pension plans and how they work, as well as the 401(k) products and services offered by Nationwide Financial.

Wireless services provider Sprint PCS, London, Ky., is teaming with Progressive Insurance Co., Mayfield Village, Ohio, on a wireless Web initiative. Progressive will offer Sprint's wireless phone customers access to auto insurance information via their Sprint PCS Internet-ready telephones by linking directly to Progressive's Web site. Users can log onto the Web site and then subsequently contact a Progressive call center for a quote from as many as three other auto carriers.
