Allstate Revs Up Apple Watch Version of Goodride

Allstate launched new features for its GoodRide app that enables motorcycle riders to log their rides on the new Apple watch.

The GoodRide app has been available for smartphones through the Apple iTunes store or GooglePlay since 2011, the insurer said, and the full version helps track miles and routes. Users then can share that information on social networks. It also helps riders plan trips and track repairs. Riders using the app have logged more than 50,000 rides and logged more than 8 million miles on the road, the insurer said.

"We saw this as a great opportunity to showcase some of the innovation we do on behalf of our customers," said Roger Tye, Allstate's senior director of consumer engagement. "We live in a hyper-connected society today and the Apple Watch innovation will make GoodRide even easier for riders to use when they are on the road."

Allstate also embarked on a Ride for Awareness, where an experience rider will travel through all 50 states on a motorcycle to spread awareness about the role motorists play in protecting motorcycle riders. He will be wearing an Apple Watch with the GoodRide app installed, Allstate said.
