Aon Names Herrmann VP and Chief Counsel of Litigation

Aon Corp. today announced that attorney Mark Herrmann has joined the company as VP and chief counsel of litigation.

"Mark brings an extraordinary background to Aon's global legal team," said Peter Lieb, Aon's EVP and general counsel. "His experience, skill set and talent will significantly enhance our firm's ability to manage its litigation and legal affairs for the 120 countries in which we conduct business."

Herrmann most recently served as a partner in the Chicago office of Jones Day. His 25 years of experience focused on civil litigation, claims for product liability, securities fraud, consumer fraud, false advertising and many alleged violations of state and federal statutory and common law.

An elected member of The American Law Institute, Herrmann serves on the Members Consultative Group for the Principles of the Law of Aggregate Litigation. He also has been published in nearly 100 media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal and Tulane Law Review, and is the author of the well-known The Curmudgeon's Guide to Practicing Law.
