BUSINESS ANALYTICS FOR MID-SIZED INSURERS

Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM has launched IBM Cognos Express, a business intelligence and planning solution specifically designed and priced for mid-sized clients. The company says the solution can be deployed in a matter of hours, and offers clients a low-cost and low-risk, integrated approach to planning, identifying trends, analyzing and reporting performance.

The Cognos Express solution is designed to provide pre-configured business analytics and planning capabilities in a single offering. The solution plugs into an organization's existing infrastructure, and can be up and running in a few hours. New capabilities can then be added over time as business requirements change.

The new solution also offers a centralized, Web-based console that manages all administrative aspects of installation, deployment and ongoing management, minimizing the need for IT staff assistance.

SAAS ENTERPRISE CONTENT MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

Shawnee, Kan.-based Perceptive Software, creator of enterprise content management software including ImageNow, has unveiled SaaS ECM solutions for invoice processing, contract management and electronic personnel files.

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is a deployment option that enables an organization to access a Perceptive Software solution on a subscription basis (monthly, quarterly or annually), eliminating capital outlays and expediting return on investment. With the launch of the new offering, Perceptive Software now offers four delivery options: traditional, hosted, subscription on premises and SaaS.

The company says the solution enables organizations to easily capture and store business content, access and manage the information needed with a single mouse click directly from line of business applications, and preserve the integrity of records throughout their lifecycle.

DESKTOP SEARCH ENABLER

Winter Haven, Fla,-based DocuLex has launched WebSearch Connector, a desktop solution for rapid integration between DocuLex Archive Studio's WebSearch content management software and popular business applications, including Microsoft Office.

The company says the program provides a direct pipeline between desktop applications and WebSearch, allowing the user to execute document search and retrieval operations instantly from desktop applications. The connector consists of reusable user interface components that embed content search and retrieval capabilities directly into the user's Windows desktop.

The company says Connector eliminates the hurdles most often associated with custom programming solutions.

A component of DocuLex Archive Studio, WebSearch is a browser-based enterprise content management application designed to enable secure content access from any location.
