BMS Buys Sequel Eclipse Broking Software

BMS Group, an independent specialist broker, has chosen Eclipse Broking software from Sequel Business Solutions Ltd., to replace its insurance and reinsurance broking systems in London, the United States and Bermuda. The implementation will go live this year.

“We were looking for a modern and powerful system to replace our old in-house software and Sequel were able to satisfy our many and exacting requirements,” said Phil Hill, CIO at BMS Group. “We needed something that would run our USA, Bermuda and London market operations without any maintenance on our side, allow us to take current and likely future regulatory demands in our stride and to help us increase the breadth and depth of our business offering in our core market places. We have ambitious targets and the new system will help us grow to plan. The system will also encompass our planned Sydney operation once it opens.”

Eclipse is a suite of business applications built with 100 percent Microsoft technology, sharing a common business and technical architecture. Sequel products have been designed with open architecture to enable easy access to information and simple connectivity with other systems, the company said, enabling customers to have a comprehensive, holistic view of their business.

“This news is of particular importance to the market; this is one of the first – if not the first – London market/Bermuda/U.S. broking implementations planned on such a scale. And it is significant that a growing market player should entrust their system to Sequel,” said Michael Graham, Sequel’s sales and marketing director. “BMS are moving on to a world class system that will allow them to concentrate on their core business without having to worry about what’s happening under the bonnet – Sequel will see to that.”
