Canadian Insurer Contracts Quindell Portfolio

Quindell Portfolio, an insurance software provider, has announced that CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) is contracting the company to provide its auto club members and insurance customers with telematics technology and services.

The contract was made on an exclusive basis for a minimum period of 5 years, during which Quindell will provide technology for all of CAA SCO’s telematics initiatives. CAA SCO has a membership base of more than 1.9 million members.

CAA SCO will be using a full suite of Quindell software, including the provision of devices, network connectivity, product platform, systems integration, logistics, mobile applications, data analytics, call-center services and consumer-facing interaction. This broad offering is designed to enable CAA SCO to launch their service bundle quickly, with a broad range of services. According to Quindell, it is able to implement all aspects of a telematics program within eight weeks.

Over the next five years, Quindell and CAA SCO believe that between 10 to 30 percent of all Canadian auto insurance policies will transition to being telematics-based.

CAA SCO members are entitled to core services, including 24/7 roadside services, battery service, emergency fuel and delivery, flat tire service, locksmith and extrication services, which the insurer hopes will be enhanced by the introduction of telematics services. CAA SCO also provides auto insurance to more than 90,000 auto owners in Ontario and plans to use Quindell’s technology to offer CAA Insurance clients new products.
