Chubb has unveiled a new cybersecurity app for U.S. and Canadian commercial clients in response to recent upticks in ransomware attacks.
The application, Cyber Alert, allows users to contact Chubb’s cyber response team, comprised of independent third-party service providers, via smartphone and web in the event of a breach. A live cyber response specialist is available to customers 24/7, the insurer says.
"The first few hours and days following a cyber incident are the most critical," said Anthony Dolce, vice president and cyber claims lead at Chubb, in a statement. "Being ready to respond and immediately engaging your incident response team can make all the difference in mitigating losses associated with a cyber incident.”
Customers are also prompted to create personal profiles upon downloading the iOS and Android application. The accounts detail policy and claim information required to speed up response times following an incident. Once an event is reported, users can upload photos to response coaches that will investigate the impact and manage legal or regulatory concerns. Chubb's Cyber Alert app can be used by individuals or be integrated into larger corporate incident response plans, according to the company.
