Fritsch Named N.Y. Deputy Superintendent for Accounting & Internal Affairs

New York State Insurance Superintendent James Wrynn announced Wednesday that Joseph Fritsch was promoted to deputy superintendent for accounting and international affairs.

Previously the department’s director of insurance accounting policy, Fritsch’s new role includes advising the superintendent and first deputy on accounting policy as well as coordinating with regulators in other states, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), and officials from other countries on department policies and global issues.

Fritsch, who began his career with the New York State Insurance Department in 1979, represents the NAIC and United States at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, which sets solvency and solvency-related standards, including those related to risk management, internal models and adequacy of capital.
