Genpact acquires BrightClaim with eye toward tech infusion

Professional services firm Genpact has acquired BrightClaim, a provider of claims techology and field personnel for insurers.

Genpact says the move will help carriers by integrating its next-generation technologies, like mobile and analytics, into the core claims system provided by BrightClaim. Terms of the deal, which also includes BrightClaim's sister company National Vendor, a provider of claims settlement services, were not disclosed.

"A growing digital-native customer base and the ubiquity of data are driving the need for innovation at an unprecedented pace and fundamentally changing the insurance claims operating model," says Mohit Thukral, SVP and business leader, banking, financial services and insurance for Genpact, in a statement. "With the added U.S. onshore capabilities and domain expertise from BrightClaim and National Vendor, we are enhancing our ability to help insurance clients infuse digital technologies and analytics into their operations to create a sustainable competitive advantage for them."

Genpact will acquire regional offices in Atlanta and Austin as part of the deal.
