Applied Systems awarded Harleysville Insurance a 2009 Applied Systems “Interface Partner Award,” recognizing the insurer’s commitment to providing agents with download, real-time inquiry and real-time rating.

Applied Systems acknowledged Harleysville’s leadership and innovations, citing the company’s achievements in agency/carrier communication. In addition, the Applied Systems Client Network, which is comprised of independent insurance agents, recognized Harleysville for the steps the company has taken to enhance the ease of doing business for its agency partners.

“At Harleysville Insurance, we remain focused on making it easier for our agents to do business with us,” says Michael Browne, Harleysville’s president and CEO. “Because we believe technology is vital to the success of achieving that goal, we have devoted much of our time, energy and talent to enhancing our information technology capabilities. A key component of those efforts and a focus for Harleysville in 2010 is the deployment of real-time upload capabilities to better integrate our technology with the major agency management systems that support our independent agency partners, which is the ultimate goal of the Real Time industry initiative. We’re pleased that we’ve again been recognized for the efforts of our talented professionals, as well as the course we’ve taken to implement innovative technology that will best serve our employees, agents and policyholders.”

Harleysville was recognized during a ceremony in Kansas City, Mo., at 2009 TENCon, the Technology, Education & Networking Conference hosted by ASCnet, the Applied Systems Client Network.

“The continued commitment of Harleysville and other forward-thinking carriers keeps our industry advancing,” says Doug Johnston, VP, partner relations and product innovations at Applied Systems. “We recognize the company’s dedication to interface partnerships with its agencies, and for the overall benefit to the industry.”
