Homesite Names Andrew McElwee EVP, Chief Underwriting Officer

Homesite Insurance Co., a full-service property insurer focused exclusively on the homeowners, condominium and renters markets, named Andrew A. McElwee Jr. as executive VP and chief underwriting officer. In this position, he will be part of the executive management team at Homesite and responsible for the underwriting profit of Homesite's personal lines portfolio. McElwee will report to Doug Batting, Homesite's president and COO.

Homesite says McElwee was most recently COO of Chubb Personal Insurance. Under his leadership, Chubb grew in value to about $4 billion, consistently generating an underwriting profit, notes Homesite. During his 25 years with Chubb, he also managed International Field Operations and Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to Chubb, McElwee held positions at Morgan Stanley and Dewey & LeBoeuf.
