Island Insurance to Implement Guidewire PolicyCenter

Island Insurance has selected Guidewire PolicyCenter to replace its underwriting and policy administration solutions. The initial rollout of PolicyCenter will serve Island Insurance’s commercial auto business and eventually will be deployed for all personal and commercial lines.

“We selected Guidewire as a partner to help us transform our underwriting and policy administration operations because of its significant industry footprint, implementation methodologies, and the best practices it will bring to Island Insurance that we can leverage across our entire business,” said Jeff Fabry, Island Insurance’s SVP, CIO and chief security officer. “We are confident that PolicyCenter will help us increase our service levels to both our agents and customers.”

According to a press release, Island Insurance wanted a more modern technology platform to support its strategic objectives, improve operational efficiencies and automate several manual tasks, freeing staff and agents to offer better customer service.

PolicyCenter, the company said, will enable Island Insurance to:

Provide greater consistency in underwriting guidelines and business rules

Quickly assess applicant risk with accurate information

Increase the ease of doing business for agents and customers

Decrease system maintenance costs

Reduce new-employee training times
