Kony Solutions Makes Mobile Push

In an effort to increase its presence in the mobile space, Kony Solutions unveiled several new products and updates, including an update to the company’s flagship KonyOne Platform as well as six new mobile business applications, such as Mobile HR, Mobile CRM and Mobile Asset Management.

As part of that series of announcements from the provider this week was the release of Mobile Application Management (MAM), a container for the development and monitoring of internal mobile apps.

According to a press statement, administrators can use MAM to manage Kony pre-built apps, custom-built and third-party apps. The software also enables Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) capabilities, as “MAM handles application provisioning, policy management and device feature management from within a secure client container that does not impact end users’ personal apps, games, photos or videos.”

“CIOs want to be able to secure and manage corporate data and assets without touching end-users’ Angry Birds or Bejeweled games—now they can do that in a very intelligent and straightforward way, and they can do so without having to cobble together different underlying platforms, consoles and MAM/MDM products,” said Sam Lakkundi, chief mobile officer, Kony.

The software can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud, and is designed to provide a secure mobile app container, centralized web-based management console, enterprise app store.

The upgrade to KonyOne is designed to allow it to support JavaScript as well as more third-party libraries and components.

The company also unveiled Kony Sync and Enterprise Connectors, which attempts to enable connectivity into proprietary ERP or CRM systems as well as enabling offline and sync functionality to manage field-level data and integrate back-to-host systems.
