Letters To The Editor

Gentlemen:I have read with considerable concern the recent article entitled "Unitrin Direct Taps into the Benefits of a BPO" that appeared as an INSURANCEinsights supplement to the October 2004 issue of Insurance Networking News.

While I applaud your organization's interest in the growing role of outsourcing in providing innovative solutions to serve the insurance industry, that article contains a series of statements that do not reflect the views of the key decision makers at CRAIG/is, Ltd. or UNITRINdirect who managed the relationship between the companies, and it fails to reflect the continuing positive relationship between CRAIG/is, Ltd. and UNITRINdirect.

The accompanying letter from Brian Crumbaker, Senior Vice President of UNITRINdirect, presents an accurate picture of CRAIG/is, Ltd.'s relationship with UNITRINdirect.

Very truly yours,

Jeffrey A. Craig

President & CEO

CRAIG/is, Ltd.

Gentlemen:

I had not been consulted in advance by Insurance Networking News in connection with your recent article entitled "Unitrin Direct Taps into the Benefits of a BPO."

The article does not reflect my views or those of any key decision maker here at UNITRINdirect responsible for our relationship with CRAIG/is, Ltd. over the course of our agreement with CRAIG/is, Ltd. It certainly did not reflect our positive experience with CRAIG/is, Ltd.

I would be pleased to share my views with anyone who is a current or prospective client of CRAIG/is, Ltd. should they wish to contact me. Our relationship with CRAIG/is, Ltd. confirmed to us the value of a BPO in support of subrogation or other back office services, and we continue to place great value on our association with CRAIG/is, Ltd. and its contribution to our bottom line results.

Sincerely,

Brian Crumbaker

Sr. Vice President

UNITRINdirect
