Munich Re and Mobileye have partnered to equip commercial vehicles in the U.S. with the tech firm's advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving software designed to reduce car accidents.
The move is a response to a growing trend of auto collisions in the U.S, according to the companies. Munich Re will make Mobileye’s telematics platform available to its commercial insurance clients while also conducting regular loss analyses that help quantify the potential impact of the technology.
“Adding a crash avoidance system to a company’s risk management program for its fleet of vehicles can help mitigate the risk of a crash,” said Mike Scrudato, SVP and strategic innovation leader at Munich Re, US, in a statement. “Our partnership with Mobileye offers our clients and their customers with a range of fleet vehicles tools to help reduce property losses.”
