New CIO at Northwestern Mutual

Northwestern Mutual has hired a Chief Information Officer to oversee the company’s major technology systems.

Neal Sample will lead the technology organization, with a key goals to further financial planning on digital platforms.

Sample last was the Chief Operating Officer at Express Scripts, where he led all facets of operations. In addition he served as the President of Enterprise Growth at American Express and led an “cutting-edge” technology development with Yahoo and eBay.

Sample's education and years of experience makes him “an excellent fit for the chief information officer role,” says John Schlifske, chairman, president and CEO of Northwestern Mutual. "Neal's leadership and skill set will have a significant impact as we continue our digital transformation and create a leading digital experience for our clients and advisors."
